On 4/23/24, Sujit Roy (UAH/IMPACT), Johannes Schmude (IBM Research) and Manil Maskey (IMPACT/ST11) led an interactive webinar “Towards Digital Twin: Introduction to Foundation Models for Geoscience.” This event, organized by the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS), provided a comprehensive overview of Foundation Models, highlighted ongoing projects within the IMPACT project, and invited the community to participate in a new GRSS working group dedicated to foundation models. The session drew 130 participants who actively took part in a Q&A segment.
